Snowballing 1956

Fun in the snow on the tennis court.

Only half of the greenhouse remains. The entrance to the air raid shelter (capacity about 100 people) is on the left. The tree to the right of this structure is a pear tree which still exists (2010). This is the area which was an attractive garden in Slimming’s time. The boys had to weed it but was otherwise out of bounds.
